Adding a New Bank Account
To get started:
Log in to your Relay Portal.
Navigate to Settings.
Select Account Funding.
Click Add a Bank Account.
Choose your preferred verification method: Plaid (instant) or Manual verification.
Option 1: Instant Verification with Plaid
Plaid is the fastest way to securely connect your bank account.
How it works
When prompted, select your bank from the Plaid window.
Log in using your online banking username and password.
Plaid will instantly verify your account and connect it to Relay.

If your bank is supported by Plaid, this is the recommended option.
Option 2: Manual Bank Account Verification (Micro-Deposits)
If your bank does not support Plaid—or you prefer not to use it—you can verify manually.
How manual verification works
Select the manual verification option.
Enter your bank routing number and account number.
Relay will perform one micro-withdrawal and one micro-deposit (usually under $1 each) to your bank account.
This process can take up to 3 business days.
Once you receive the micro-deposits, return to your Relay Portal and enter the exact amounts to complete verification.
Important: Do Not Guess the Micro-Deposit Amounts
To protect your security:
You will have three attempts to enter the correct deposit amounts.
If the amounts are entered incorrectly three times, your account will be locked from further verification attempts.
You will then need to contact Relay Support for assistance.
For the best experience, wait until the deposits appear in your bank account before entering the verification amounts.
When Verification Is Complete
Once the micro-deposit amounts are confirmed—or your bank account is verified instantly through Plaid—your funding source will be fully active and ready for use with Relay.
