Payment flow and dates - RelayDirect

RelayDirect payments move through three primary payment statuses:

  • Scheduled

  • Sent

  • Received

These statuses help track where a payment is within the payment lifecycle.

Scheduled

A payment in Scheduled status has been created in RelayDirect, but funds have not yet been withdrawn from the payer’s account.

At this stage:

  • The payment is pending release

  • The funds have not moved yet

  • Payment details may still be editable depending on broker permissions

Sent

A payment in Sent status means the payment has been released from the payer’s account.

Funds are sent using one of the following methods:

  • ACH transfer

  • Mailed check

At this stage:

  • The payment is actively in transit to the payee

  • The payment can no longer be edited directly within the portal

Received

A payment in Received status indicates the payment is expected to have arrived based on the estimated delivery timeline.

Estimated delivery timelines:

  • ACH payments: up to 3 business days

When Are ACH Payments sent to and received by the payee?

QuickPay ACH's:

QuickPay payments are sent as Same Day ACH's. Same Day ACH's are sent before 2:00 PM EST. The payee will see this payment on their account before the end of the business day. If a payment is accepted as QuickPay after 2:00 PM EST, the ACH works as a next-day ACH. The payee will see the deposit on the next business day.

Standard ACH's:

Payments are sent based on the selected Payment Date. Standard ACH's can take 24-48 business hours to settle into a payee's bank account.

Important notes

Important: Bank holidays, weekends, and mail carrier delays may impact actual payment delivery timing.
