How to Pay for Lumper Services

You can use Relay to pay for lumpers at over 90% of lumper locations in the United States

There are two ways to pay your unloading fees with Relay:

  1. The Lumper will send you a Payment Link via text message - clicking on this link will take you to the remote checkout page or the mobile app.

  2. The Lumper Warehouse accepts RelayCodes for Payments - you can use the Relay App to generate a RelayCode.

The easiest way to pay for Lumpers is by downloading the Relay Payments App - click here to download the app!


If a payment link has been sent to you, you do not have to download the app to pay for the checkout.

Method 1: A Checkout Link was sent to you via SMS

NOTE: The lumper warehouse must create a check out and send you a payment link before you can move forward. If you have not yet received a payment link, please request one from the warehouse.

Once you receive a Checkout request from a lumper via SMS, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Link in the text message or Open the Relay app and log in. Locate the Checkout request on the Home tab or in your notifications.

    ​Note that the checkout will only show up in your app if the phone number it was sent to is the same phone number you use to log in.
    ​

  2. Click on "1 Checkout waiting" and confirm that the Company Name and Amount are correct. Once you've confirmed, click "Pay Now".

  3. Ensure that your payment details are accurate. Review the payment amount, company name, and PO Number(s). If everything is accurate, click "Continue".
    ​

  4. Choose your preferred payment method:
    ​

    1. Card: Add a card if you want to pay with a credit or debit card.

    2. Relay Code: If you've received a Relay Code from a Carrier or Broker, select this option.

    3. Fuel Card or Check: If you're using a third party fuel card or fleet check (including EFS, ComData, or T-Check), choose this option.
      ​

  5. The payment will be processed, and a lumper receipt will be generated. This might take a few minutes. You'll be notified when your payment is completed, and your receipt will be accessible in the History tab. You can view, email, or SMS your receipt.

NOTE: Certain lumpers charge processing fees that change depending on the payment method. At certain merchants that do not support using Cards for payments, Relay offers the ability to generate a RelayCode with a card for a 3% fee. All fees are included on receipts for potential reimbursement.


​Method 2: The Lumper accepts RelayCodes as a Payment Method

If you haven't received an SMS request, you can generate a Relay Code for the lumper payment:

  1. Navigate to the 'Code' page within the app and select the 'Warehouse code' card.
    ​

  2. Choose Payment Method:

    • If you have a RelayCode from a carrier or broker, select that code.

    • If you're paying with a Credit/Debit card, choose "Paying for myself" and add your card information if you haven't already.
      ​

  3. Show the generated Relay Code to the lumper for processing.
    ​

  4. Once your code is processed, you'll receive a notification confirming that your payment is complete. You can access your Receipt in the History tab.
