Creating One-Time Payment RelayCodes

Create and share one-time payment RelayCodes with your drivers to keep them moving.

Updated over 2 months ago

One-time payments allow you to send your drivers payments to solve problems as they arise. Does your driver need a repair or a tow that costs too much to be covered by their regular policy limits? Send them a one-time payment and get them back on the road.

Types of one-time payments

Relay provides several different one-time payment options depending on your needs.

Fuel codes

Can be used at any Fuel stop in the Relay network to purchase Diesel, DEF, Reefer, or Gas.

Cash codes

Can be used at any Pilot Flying J and Love's locations to get cash, make in-store purchases, or buy additives.

Lumper codes

Can be used at any lumper warehouse in the Relay network to pay lumpers.

Repair codes

Can be used at any repair & service location in the Relay network to pay for products or services.

RelayGo charges

RelayGo charges are general purpose and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. They can be sent to any driver with a RelayGo card. When a charge is sent it will be applied to your driver's next payment and will not count against their policy limits.

Sending one-time payments

To send a one-time payment navigate to whichever payment page you need in the bottom left of your navigation and click "New charge" or "Create Code" in the top right. Select a driver, set a limit, and add an optional note. Once you save and send the driver will receive a text message notifying them about the payment and be able to see it in their Relay app.

For RelayGo charges a driver is required but on one-time codes, it is not. If you need you can create a one-time code without a driver and send it to any phone or email using the "Send" section at the bottom of the code.

We recommend sending codes to drivers who are set up in your Relay account whenever possible for both security and reporting purposes.

Finding a Location in the Relay Network

Use the Explore map and filters in your portal to identify a location you would like to send your driver a code for. Each one-time code payment use can be restricted to a specific location.

Setting up Permissions for One-time Payments

Admins have the ability to configure who can send one-time payments and up-to what monetary value in their portal settings.

Navigate to Settings by clicking your name or the gear in the bottom left corner of your portal account. Then select User Management. Select the user or create a new user.

You will then see the permissions each user is configured for. There are "Manage" permissions for each one-time payment with a max up-to amount each user can set per payment.
