Team Drivers

Manage your drivers as teams, enabling them to share policy limits and restrictions

Updated over a year ago

What are team drivers?

Drivers can be grouped into teams allowing you to manage their policy spending and restrictions collectively. Drivers on a team share policy limits, meaning when one driver purchases fuel it counts against the limits for every driver on the team.

Most commonly teams are used to enable drivers who share a single truck and drive in shifts. However thats not a restriction, you can use teams to group and manage your drivers for any reason that makes sense for your organization.

Enabling team drivers

Before you can create a team Relay must enable the Team Drivers feature for your account at no additional cost. Reach out to your account representative about Team Drivers to get started. If you don't know your account rep or need help immediately contact Relay Support at 1-877-735-2910 or [email protected].

Managing and creating teams

Once enabled your should see a "Teams" tab on your drivers page. Here you can view all of your teams and click on teams in the table to manage them. Click "New Team" in the top right to create new teams.

When creating a new team you will need to name them, select their policy, and add drivers. If the team's policy has a required match prompt (like a driver pin) you will need to enter that for each driver before saving.

Any policy can be assigned to a team. Just remember that the limit set on a policy meant for individual drivers might not be sufficient for a team of two or more drivers.

Optionally you can also assign a team a RelayGo card. The card's spending will be restricted by the team's policy. Currently only one card per team is supported meaning all drivers will need to share the same physical card.

Managing team data

You can add fields to teams by going to the Custom Fields page under Settings, choosing a custom field, and selecting the teams checkbox.

Once a field is set to appear on teams it will show up as an input when you create or edit a team. Whatever value you set there will show up in the teams table and as meta data on all that teams transactions for reporting purposes.

View transactions by team

Once your teams start making payments you will be able to view and report by their transactions.

Click "View" under the transactions column for a team to see their payment history. This will take you to the Transactions page filtered buy that team and show you a list of all their transactions.
