You can manage your drivers in Relay from the Drivers page. From here, you can add or remove drivers, assign payment policies, and track usage.
Adding a driver
To add a new driver, click the New Driver button in the top-right of the Drivers page. A slide-out form will appear where you can enter their basic information, assign a policy, and choose whether to send an app invite.
You’ll be able to fill in the following fields:
First Name and Last Name
Phone Number and Email
Driver policy – controls what types of payments the driver can make
RelayGo card – assign a payment card if your policy allows it
Invite driver to the Relay App – checked by default; sends a download link by text when the driver is saved
You may send an invite later by clicking the three-dot menu next to the driver and selecting Send App Download Text.
Once you've completed all necessary fields, Click on Save to create the driver.
Adding a driver to a policy
Driver policies define how much, how often, and on what a driver can spend. When adding or editing a driver, you’ll be prompted to select a policy from the dropdown menu.
Some policies may also include prompted data requirements that drivers must enter before making a purchase. These can include:
Odometer reading
Truck #
Driver PIN
Any custom input set by your team
If your policy uses a MATCH requirement (e.g. exact PIN), you’ll be prompted to enter the expected value during setup. Drivers must enter the exact same value when completing a transaction.
Editing a driver
To update a driver’s information:
Locate the driver on the Drivers page
Click the three-dot menu at the end of their row
Select Edit
From here, you can:
Update the driver’s name, or email
Note - You cannot edit a driver's phone number once they have been added. To update a driver's phone number you will need to delete and re-add them.
Reassign or update their driver policy
Enable or disable RelayGo card access
You can also view a history of changes made to each driver (e.g. who edited their info or enabled their policy)
Disable, remove or reactivate a driver
Use the three-dot menu on the Drivers page to manage a driver’s access:
Disable driver’s policy - temporarily blocks the driver from making purchases
Enable policy - restores spending access for a previously disabled driver
Remove driver - permanently deletes the driver from your organization
Disabling a driver does not delete them from your account. They’ll retain their profile and history but won’t be able to spend.
